Kyriaki is just 18 kilometers away from Livadeia and it is built at an altitude of 860 meters, on the west slopes of Helicon. The area had been inhabited since antiquity, with the name Flygonio, but it was destroyed during the Sacred Wars, in 350 B.C. During the period of the Ottoman Rule the people of the area fought together with great chieftains. Nowadays, there are still remains from the fortification of Ancient Flygonio and ruins of some buildings in the ancient citadel.
At the square of Kyriaki there is the Monastery of Timios Prodromos, and, on a steep rock, from where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Corinthian Gulf, the Monastery of Agioi Theodoroi is built. There are also the Temples of Hosios Ieronymos and Hosios David, as well as a library.
Kyriaki stands out for its beautiful, picturesque houses and its narrow lanes. At the central square you can relax and enjoy local flavors in the traditional taverns and coffeehouses.
